Our lake trips take place on the Blue Mesa reservoir, which is the largest body in Colorado.  We will launch from Elk Creek Marina which is about 45 minutes from Crested Butte or Lake Fork Marina.  This trip is perfect for families up to four who wish to fish together in the same boat.  We troll, vertical jig, and fish the shoreline for rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout(mackinaw), kokanee salmon, and yellow perch.  You'll be fishing from a comfortable 19" Lund outfitted with Lowrance fish finders with side scan, downriggers, kicker motor, and spot lock technology.  All of the equipment is included and we will clean your catch at the end of the trip. The Blue Mesa is beautiful and a ton of fun to fish.  We offer a 3 hour and 6 hour trip.  We also offer trips for trophy lake trout, which are 6 hours.  The Blue Mesa has produced state record lake trout, it's amazing that fish up to 40 pounds exist and are caught.  Catching big lakers is not easy and we are always learning and adapting to their behaviors.  We protect these giants and practice catch and release.  It takes patients, skill, willing fish, and a good guide!  The Mesa also has the largest population of kokanee salmon in the lower 48 and they fight hard and taste amazing.  We troll for salmon with trout mixed in the schools.  The brown trout are wild and have the chance to grow due to the abundance of food.  The rainbow trout are stocked by the 10,000 throughout the summer.  Please call us directly to book this trip!
